  I have Preston as my mortgage banker, he is very prompt and skilled at what he does. I had a situation come up and needed to switch bankers at the last minute of purchasing a home. He helped me very quickly and went above and beyond my expectations! I highly recommend Preston Evans if you’re looking for a mortgage banker.

  I'm not sure when Plains Commerce Bank decided to become a dishonest bank but strongly reconsider doing business here because they cannot keep their word! After the storm in May, my house was damaged and I received a check from the insurance company that both myself and the bank must sign. I was told they would overnight it back to me, it's been almost 3 weeks and it's still not back with no reasonable excuse. Just lies! I'm done doing business with these dishonest people!

  My husband and I decided to get a mortgage loan through Plains with Tyler Schulte and his team. Initially, things were going really well. They’re friendly people, and answered calls/emails promptly. Tyler told my husband and I that we qualified for a 5% “gift” from the state and that it would cover all of our closing costs and down payment on the home we intended to purchase. Great! Right? From January-March 2022 we anticipated we would be getting this amount from the state and had been anxiously awaiting our closing on our home. We had someone take over the lease on our apartment and had everything squared away, just waiting for 4/1. We were in the midst of packing our U-Haul and cleaning out the apartment on 3/31 when we received a call from Tyler at 4pm saying that our assistance got denied and basically we either came up with almost $15,000 or we didn’t get the house. Not even 24 hours before closing and we get told we come up with the money or are basically homeless?? An “I’m so sorry” and “I’m heart broken over this” later from Tyler, my husband and I were able to come up with the money (THANKFULLY) and we’re able to close on our house the next morning at 9am on 4/1.Tyler and his team had all of the necessary paperwork over a month in advance and all of this could have been avoided had the paperwork been filed correctly in the first place. We submitted the same documents MULTIPLE times. I’m obviously very happy that we were still able to purchase the home we had been waiting on for almost 2 months, but now my husband and I are out over $14,000 and have had to put a lot of things on hold due to finances being tight. I definitely would NOT recommend going through this institution for loans and will make sure I do my research thoroughly in the future. Definitely learned my lesson and I hope anyone reading this can avoid this situation as well.
