  We are entirely thrilled to have the Rob O’Malley team from Preferred Rate to help draw up our loan for our new home! We’ve worked with a bunch of folks from his team; Rob himself, Lindsay, Jacquelin. . .just to name a few! Getting financed for a new home is extremely difficult. It has to be. It is a long term commitment between you and your lender. There was an unimaginable amount of documents that we had to scan, print, sign, PDFs, bank statements, 401K statements, etc. I have nightmares at night with all of these paperwork lol! With that said, everyone in Rob’s team help provide guidance throughout the way. They were extremely patient with us, and was transparent about every single line item in the quotes provided to us. Going through the process of getting a home loan was pretty stressful, however, I’ve learned a thing or two about the different types of mortgages, how they work, how escrow accounts work, etc. It’s better this way as understanding what goes on behind the scenes of this process gives me a greater appreciation of the loan and the lender themselves. Not only did Rob’s team provide us guidance in exactly what was needed for the loan to move forward, they made things happen that we couldn’t even imagine having (like an increase in our loan amounts, as just one example). I definitely will recommend Rob’s team over at Preferred Rate/APM to others looking for a new home loan. I also really like the little email updates with videos in terms of what stage the loan is in. It’s a heart wrenching wait for the loan to finally close…those email updates really help assure us that the gears are still in motion, even if we don’t hear from them for a while in terms of updates.
