You’d be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t call & speak with Brooks Bane at Prosperity Bank while shopping for mortgage lenders. My husband & I were clueless first-time home buyers & Brooks was MVP of the entire process. From pre-approval to closing, Brooks was exceptionally responsive in guiding us through the home buying process. He provided us several incredibly competitive loan options & went above and beyond to ensure we were confident & able to timely close on our dream home. Could not more wholeheartedly recommend.

I initially began banking with Community Credit Union, which became Viewpoint, then LegacyTexas, and now Prosperity. With any of the prior acquisitions I never had an issue; that is until Prosperity came alone. Within a few months of the acquisition, I noticed micro-transactions on our bank account that we did not request. I notified them immediately via phone and was told the "back office" would look into it and ensure the account was secure. Fast forward to approximately 1 month later, our bank account was nearly drained. Upon inquiring via phone, the message I left with the woman who took it never did make it to the back office and the account was therefore never secured. Not only was this nightmare enough, the only way we could stop the hemorrhaging from our account was to go to the branch IN PERSON, and not just one account holder, but both had to be present. This meant my husband and myself urgently rushing off of work to make it over in time to be present in person to shut down the compromised account. The Good: (1) We were able to get our money back, thank goodness. (2) We were initially told we would have to go to the physical branch where we opened our accounts years ago (about 15 miles away), but we were able to get them to override this. The Bad: (1) Having to spend 2 hours at the bank in person just to stop the transactions and begin the process of closing the account. (2) Our account was compromised and we really don't know how this was possible. We don't have a debit card for it and it was only used for direct deposit and to pay a few automated bills. (3) Our new accounts were then set up incorrectly. Instead of putting my husband and I on the joint account, only I was put on the joint account and my husband and I were placed on his individual savings account. (4) In order to rectify the above mistake on the new accounts, we were told we once again had to go into the branch IN-PERSON to do this. They also will not remove your previous closely accounts from your dashboard - you have to fill out a request form to have them removed. We moved our money as fast as we could over to another bank and encouraged our family members using Prosperity to do the same.
