I have been a customer of this bank for over 22 yrs. Love the bank and the employees. They are very helpful, sweet and know their job.

This bank refused to deposit a personal loan check. I went to two other banks that had no issue with depositing a check from a major lender and didn't understand why 1st Mercantile had such a policy. If you are getting a loan, just note that this bank will not deposit it. The teller, older grumpy lady, was out of line and wouldn't admit she was wrong. There was no such policy in place, they simply put a hold on the deposit for 9 days. I since have closed my account.

Great experience opening accounts and have been with them for a few years now. Recently got a loan with my son for a car and had an awesome experience! They were very patient with my son and worked around his work schedule to gather the info and paper work signed and that was needed to get him approved for an awesome car for a guy with his first job, first car and fixing to go to college. My son is being shown that by being responsible and living right and hanging with the right people that good things do come your way and people are nice and do good things for you. I hope by posting this, that maybe too other teens fresh out of highschool or even before will see that if you want good, nice things and people to do things to help you to get them, you have to do in return be responsible, trustworthy, and willing and ready to work hard to get them. I have no doubt my son is on his way to do great things. Thanks to Putnam 1st Mercantile Bank for all you do for me and my son. Y'all are number 1!
