      Very frustrating working with Republic Title. Transaction went smoothly, but somewhere in the process of refinancing, my insurance autopay was cancelled (not by me as I had not even informed them that I was refinancing). My insurance payment did not arrive until 18 days after closing. It took days to get a response that the check was even sent and I had to spend hours of my time dealing with a problem that should have never existed in the first place. Had my autopay not been cancelled, there would have not been a problem. Absurd that I had to put my homeowners in the transaction in the first place, but since it has to work that way, I do expect the title company should not do a WORSE job of paying the insurance than I was doing, creating problems where they did not exist. It took from Wednesday afternoon when I first contacted the lender until Monday to even get someone to confirm a check had been sent. This should not have been sent via a $.55 sent stamp with no tracking ability, and I should not have to ask for days without answers where my money is and why it isn't where it is supposed to be. Very frustrating. It seemed the lender and the title company did not even know who was responsible for sending the check. Not a warm and fuzzy feeling when you are dealing with the largest transactions of your life. Not even an apology - just cut and paste the check info into the email when I finally got word that a check had been mailed. How is it possible that in this day and age that payment is not sent electronically the instant the transaction is complete. If you work with them I would require your insurance payment be overnighted, or sent electronically to avoid this frustration.
