  My experience with Semper was unexpected simple. Polo Olaiz was very patient, thorough and knowledgeable and made the refinancing process smooth. He communicated each step of the process and was very timely in responding to all the questions I had. I would definitely recommend him and Semper to anyone who is seeking a home loan.

  Terrible customer service; would not recommend. The process SHOULD have been fast and simple, however it was anything but. After uploading 77 documents (you read that right), I didn't hear anything from them for almost two weeks. Their website indicated they had everything needed and we were simply waiting for the underwriters' decision. Then -- at the last minute (while I was out of town) -- I received an urgent request for more documentation that they claimed they had been waiting on from me. When I responded that the website showed I had uploaded everything, their response: "OH! Well, we haven't been updating the website." Well DUH! That is where they told me to go for all communication. As a result, the last week was a mad rush with lots of pressure on me to try to get documents last minute -- from my phone -- from an airport -- in order to make closing. Then -- the icing on the cake -- we got to closing and discovered a NEW disclosure (the 5th one, by the way -- it kept changing all throughout the process) had been supplied to the attorney the day before closing but had NOT been provided to us. We owed $5,000 at the closing table which we had no clue about... we hadn't even brought a checkbook to closing because we were told we wouldn't owe anything more. Any lender that gives you a $5k SURPRISE at closing -- especially when it's not in our favor -- cannot be trusted. Run, run, run away from this lender!
