  I built a house in Spokane, and as with any home purchase, so many unexpected stressors came up throughout the process. Skip was everything and more I could’ve hoped or expected from his role. Firstly, I had talked with a few lenders prior to being referred to Skip who all said “this is going to be really hard.” And by the time I talked to Skip I basically said, “I’m a travel nurse with inconsistent income due to the nature of my job, and I need a lender who won’t think it’s hard to get me approved, but who has a game plan for how we’re gonna totally get me approved.” He was basically like, “Yup- we’re gonna take it from this angle and get you a loan.” I didn’t know what I was doing, AT ALL, and he never made me feel dumb for that, even in the slightest, and would kindly and patiently explain and correct concepts that I wasn’t understanding to help me understand. He was always kind, professional, very quick to respond, incredibly helpful, and if he ever had to repeat himself due to me being overwhelmed and sometimes spacing, he never seemed irritated and was nothing but kind. He constantly eased my nerves (and I had a lot of them) and was patient with me. When I say he went above and beyond- in the second half of my home being built, my real estate agent basically went MIA. When urgent things came up toward the end where I might possibly lose the house, Skip stepped into this grey-area role and filled gaps- doing some communicating and emailing with various people- so that I wouldn’t lose the house and so I could close on time. He just simply handled it, got the job done, so I could have my house. He was the lender I didn’t know I needed- he curbed the stress while I was away working covid assignments, comforted the anxiety, and did his actual job EXPERTLY, like a total boss.
