  I've had so many problems with this bank that I don't know where to begin. Communication is awful. I live abroad at the moment, which the bank knows, and I needed to withdraw money to put into my overseas account. The bank was informed that such a withdrawal would be taking place, yet continued to block the withdrawal, even after about six phone calls in which they said they would be allowing the withdrawal to go through within a few minutes. I spent ten hours of my day trying to make a withdrawal the bank knew I was trying to make. Currently, they are still not allowing the withdrawal, leaving me without sufficient funds in my overseas account to pay a deposit for housing. Thanks to this bank, I'll likely lose the housing I've arranged as I'm now unable to pay a deposit, despite the fact that I informed the bank of my intentions in advance. This is far from the only time I've had issues with South Story blocking transactions that I have specifically informed them about. This happened when I lived in the US as well, so it's not just a matter of being abroad. I will never recommend South Story and will be closing my account as soon as I can.

  Kelli, South Story Bank & Trust places a high priority with protecting our customer's money as well as providing excellent customer service. Upon reviewing your account, one of your purchases was flagged as potential fraud (foreign country code and high risk company) which resulted in a temporary block on your card. Our fraud protection company made several attempts to verify the questionable transaction and the block remained until we were able to verify your purchase. We understand the inconvenience this has caused, but we want to reiterate that our first priority is to protect our customers from fraud on their accounts. Thank you, South Story Bank & Trust

  We recently moved both our business and personal accounts to South Story, and have been impressed with the level of customer service, proactive approach and responsiveness we've received! The level of understanding regarding our business needs exceeded our expectations. Ragan is amazing to work with - thank you! On the personal side, Steve has made the transition easy, and has gone out of his way to help us. Another big thank you! Everyone else in the Huxley and Ames offices have been great as well.
