      When I’ve been in the bank, everyone was friendly but consumers beware. Reviewing a client’s documentation for mortgages, discovered that the bait his banker “friend” used to “lower your monthly payment” was actually extending the length of the loan, while also rolling in their fees (<$2k) & slightly raising the interest rate. So in the long run, the client would pay more interest and for a longer timeframe (an extra 5 years). My client wasn’t aware of this nor financially savvy enough to ask or catch it, he trusted his banker friend. No matter what loan someone gets, they need to ask questions that relate to these issues.
