  my stepfather recently passed away on March 24th. I received a frantic phone call from my 74 year old mother today that Sumner Bank and trust had sent my stepfather's social security payment that was deposited on the 10th of March for the month of February, back to social security. this will put my 74 year old mother in quite a bind for at least three or four weeks, while she sorts things out with the social security office. when I spoke to the bank representative I was told that it is their policy to send back the most recent deposit in the event of a death. I hope that every customer of Sumner Bank & trust will take this into consideration, when deciding to continue banking with such an establishment. my stepfather and mother were on a fixed income and this will surely put my mother in a bind and cause undo stress in a time that is very trying for her.
