  Don't bother going there if you want something notarized. They say they have one but they will just send you to the UPS store instead of helping out. Glad I wasted my time expecting a little customer service from a bank I have been using for years.

  My husband and I got our mortgage through this bank. Our loan originator kept saying that we’d get all of my escrow, home inspection and other money that I spent back at closing. On the final day, they said all I could get back was $500. Stating that I could ONLY get back what I put in even though I put in $1,500. I wish I never did business with this bank. I’m writing this review because I don’t want others tricked with promises of $2,000+ on documents... just to see $500 at the end.

  This bank has the absolute worst rates, business practices and customer service. The bank manager, Stephan Hollis, is incompetent, has no people skills whatsoever and is primarily responsible for a mass exodus of customers from the Daniel Island branch. I looked at getting a mortgage at NBSC and the rate I received was .75% higher than any other competitor! I had an account at this bank (thankfully now CLOSED!) and was nickel and dimed with several junk fees every month. NBSC may have thrived in the 70's and 80's when there were less sophisticated customers that it could exploit, but, thankfully, times have changed. I'm really not sure how it stays in business.
