Peoples Bank has put a hold on $61.42 of my monies since Saturday, January 29th. Today is the 2nd of February. The mistake took place in one of the self-checkout registers at a store, but Peoples Bank refuses to release that hold and I have no access to that money. I am supposed to wait until Friday (two days from now) and the funds "should" then be released; the Manager said, "should," not "will." So, I still do not know that they will be released for sure. For five days so far Peoples has made $61.42 unavailable to me. I bet if the $61.42 belonged to the bank-account of the person in charge of releasing the funds, the release would have been immediate. Peoples does not care. The hold is the result of someone else's mistake, but I, the client, am paying the price. I would be as livid and writing the same review for $1 because it is not about the sum, but it is the shabby treatment of customers who have given that Bank business for many years. Shabby treatment. Peoples Bank does not work for the "people." The bank ought to change its name to "The 'We Don't Care About The People' Bank."

Was treated so bad at the hwy. 49 branch by the head teller that I would rather drive all the way to the one down town before I go in that bank again. The worst on the coast.
