I've shopped at toby's since 2010 when I was at uva fighting cancer, was in need of small cash loans dourng my treatment because I was flat broke and out of my job awaiting disability. Now I'm retired and still shopping at toby's, mainly in firearm buying, the shop and staff are wonderful, toby, is a great owner and, Rachel, Ashley and dear Britney are wonderful, this is my go to store, weather buying, selling or a trade, toby's is 5 star's. I brought an Xbox in and the guy wouldn’t even plug it in to check if it worked. He said there was “too much dust on it” so he couldn’t touch it. Keep in mind, the dust that was on it was easily able to be taken care of with a hand or a can of air spray. He told me “take it home and clean it then maybe we’ll take it.” The guy was rude for no reason, refused to even check to see if it worked based on it having some dust on it, and treated me like he didn’t care that I was trying to bring them business. I highly recommend avoiding this place and going to Snookis downtown. This was my first time visiting this pawn shop on Pantops and I’ll never go again

If my employee was rude, you have my sincere apology. While we are very particular about what we purchase, my cardinal rules are "be nice...be helpful."
