  If you want to be charged overdraft fees for no reason then this is your bank. When you go into the office you will wait more than 30 plus minutes to even be seen. When you finally get to see someone they are absolutely no help and will blame everything on you. No help at all! Would never recommend this bank to anybody

  If I could leave zero stars I would. I have been with BB&T for over a decade. I recently graduated college and was notified via email that BB&T would now be charging me an access fee on my account since I am no longer a student. I also have a bank account with Navy Federal so I figured why not just consolidate accounts moving forward since Navy Federal does not charge maintenance fees. I go into the branch and inform them that I will be leaving BB&T and effectively closing out my account to go to Navy Federal. I asked the teller to make sure nothing is pending as I do not want to incur overdraft fees when I withdraw all my funds to close the account. The teller confirmed that nothing was pending and I proceeded to withdraw all my funds to go to Navy Federal. Well it turns out, a transaction was pending that I could not see however the teller told me I had nothing pending. I have incurred a $72 overdraft fee now and BB&T refuses to refund me for THEIR ERROR! I have talked to the branch manager, she could do nothing for me. So I attempted to call corporate only to find out there is no phone number for corporate listed (I wonder why? Maybe because their bank sucks? Just a thought). I spoke with customer service and finally got through to corporate and they told me it would take 10 business days for someone else to reach out to me. Someone else called me and told me there is nothing else they can do either. I was actually charged $2 for speaking to customer service - what kind of institution CHARGES their customers for speaking to customer service?! That's right folks - BB&T charges you for speaking to their customer service. At this point, I am giving up on getting my $72 back. As a customer of over ten years, to be treated like this is truly unfortunate. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences of my life and I would NEVER recommend anyone to ever bank at BB&T.

  Horrible customer service. Waited over an hour before able to speak with someone. Unsatisfactory. Completely unacceptable.
