I absolutely love this particular branch! Jean is a delight and really lives up to the ethos of BB&T of reliable, responsive, empathetic and competent. Anytime anything has come up she has been extremely helpful and gone above and beyond. Edson helped me today along with her and he is also delightful and very conscientious. I’ve never felt so safe and happy with a bank! Very grateful for you all.

I opened a checking account online. I was advised by customer servicet go into a local bank and ask for a temporary card and if they could drop my pending funds. I went into BB&T located 7100 4th Street North St. Petersburg, FL 33702 and had the worst experience with banking I have ever had. I've never been so discriminated against in my life. It was from the moment I was asked for assistance from the teller Jas. I walked in and walked straight to the teller and asked her about a temporary card and at first she just looked at me odd squinting her face and said BB&T don't do temporary cards and I informed her I was advised by customer service to come in and ask for one (not saying that would make a difference but figured I'd inform her) and she eventually pulled up my account (not sure why) and went to speak with Ms. Jean Levi who welcomed me into her office and asked for my driver's license and SSC which I provided and start reviewing my account. She informed me during this time that CS really only wanted me to come in to "verify" myself and that I seemed suspicious because my driver's license has a different address than the one I'm trying to open my account with and continuously cut me off with "you wouldn't have come in" like I was a scammer every time I would just simply try to say "I wouldn't have come this early to sign a piece of paper when getting a temporary card that I was advised by customer service to come in and do to pay a bill was more important than just signing a piece of paper to 'verify' myself." But she wouldn't even let me finish. She made me feel like I was doing some fraudulent activity or something. She also had me sign a piece a paper in the beginning having me believe I was getting a temporary card to later find out "BB&T don't give temporary cards and that the paper I signed was me verifying myself" I guess I should've read the fine print and in fact would like a copy of whatever I signed. She also kept informing me I opened my account up with $50 not $100 which is required and same with savings. I left to only turn back around and go back to the teller and ask if CS was also lying about her being able to drop my funds in my account, she also didn't know what I was talking about but really before she could answer, Ms. Jean Levi is standing there repeating what she's already said to me in her office, and like I advised her I'm not illiterate and remember what she told me but if she happen to be standing there when I asked the teller what I asked, she wouldn't have to feel like repeating herself and having to interject between me and the teller because I was asking the teller a question and never made any kind of contact with her, she approached me. Also, she was very generous to inform me she did not like me as a person, the attitude I had and felt that BB&T should not have me as a customer and I should close my account and she wanted me to leave her bank. I told her I was originally dealing with the teller when I walked back in and never made contact with her and if she wanted me to leave please call the police. I then overheard Ms. Jean Levi talking to her manager about her wanting to leave comments on my account and close it, well she succeeded because I received a letter 11/27/2019 informing me my account is closed and I needed to get my funds. She personally didn't like me or my attitude after only dealing with me after a few minutes but who wouldn't have an attitude or feel a type of way when you have a banker informing you "you already seem suspicious walking in the door with your driver's license having one address and your account has another; CS basically tricked you to come in and verify yourself and you should close your account with BB&T"? I've been misinformed and discriminated dealing with BB&T and for what?? I have color to my skin? I look a certain way? Was I dressed offensively? It doesn't matter because her personal feelings should've stayed to herself.
