      Sent a *Certified* cheque from PenFed to pay off a lien held by this bank for a vehicle I was purchasing. They held the funds for 7 days, then waited till the last minute on 7th day to release the lien so effectively 10 days to do what is a normally a 24 hour transaction, max. I'm sure it's fine for basic banking, but would recommend using a modern bank as this sort of thing can cause issues getting transactions completed. Luckily I was buying from someone I knew who allowed me to drive the vehicle till I could get the new registration, but imagine sending almost $50,000 via certified funds and having a bank hold the funds and title for over a week.
