My wife went in today to cash in a couple of EE Bond's and she was told that US Bank no longer cashes in bonds because of recent fraud. I understand that this decision was made at a corporate level and has nothing to do with this branch, however we are long time customers and have been cashing in bonds as they mature for the last 2 years. To be turned away like this is just unacceptable. I think it is time to find a new bank.

We apologize for the inconvenience, due to extreme market conditions U.S. Bank can't accept any savings bonds for cash redemption or deposit at this time. It's currently unknown when U.S. Bank will be able to accept savings bonds. We encourage you to use TreasuryDirect.gov for forms and instructions to redeem your bonds. First, U.S. Bank is in decline and they just recently closed many locations in the area. Today, I spoke with a bank employee at this location and presented her with a check written to me personally from U.S. Bank. I asked her to cash it for me or at least convert it over to a cashier's check so that I have certified funds and she refused to do that also. This is the second time I've ever had a bank refuse to honor their own check; the first was another U.S. Bank location. Don't bank here...
