  Not very happy with our experience on purchasing our first home. We were looking at homes end of 2015 and interest rates were quite low. We were looking at several houses, got pre-qualified, but were told if we didn't purchase by the 1st of 2016 interest rates would go up 1%. We panicked and I feel this led us to rush into a purchase. I didn't find out until after rates don't raise more than .25% at a time and the rate raise would have been over a year. I feel this was a predatory tactic, and therefore would not recommend them. It is already very hard to be fully informed when buying a first home as it is impossible to learn everything. You rely on the experts you hire to help you make an informed decision. Our loan was also sold shortly after several times. We did get our home and are fairly happy where we are, but I would have rather not rushed which led us to in my opinion overpay and potentially even settle.
