  Three years ago I decided to make the switch to UBT Bank. I'd always banked with the same national chain, but I was finally fed up with the silly company wide policy changes that the local branches could do nothing about. Oh boy! There really is a difference when you decide to go with a local company/bank, rather than a national chain! In my situation, it was a business account that I needed to open, but I'd banked so long at the "other place" that I couldn't remember what I needed to bring in to open a new account. I called to ask and the teller took my name/number down. Very quickly I got a call back (wish I could remember her name...Kathy or Kay, maybe) and she took a lot of time helping me decide which type of account I should open - figuring up how many transactions per month I'd probably have, daily average balance, etc. The whole "feel" of this bank is personal and attentive!!! I was worried that I'd have to give up good online banking or a good phone app, but UBT's technology is just as great! These days I mostly do mobile deposit, but when I do need to "go to" the bank, the tellers are always helpful, cheerful, and I never have to wait long. I highly recommend this bank!

  Do not get a home loan from this bank. You will regret it deeply, as I do. I have had to come into their office several times to correct mistakes on mortgage payments, and an escrow error where they were late to paying home owners insurance. If it did not cost so much to refinance elsewhere I would immediately.

  Nothing special about this bank. Charges $30 overdraft fee even after making your account positive that day. Always transfers instantly from app. but for some reason it took a day (pending) after a check was deposited. Second time this has happened! They will only credit you half the money! Transferring my accounts to another bank. One that allows them to take money from savings to avoid this nonsense and taking my hard earned money! 05/09/16 The younger Hispanic banker that served me today (4:15ish) is always rude to me! I wanted to cash in my check today but have only 1.xx in my acct. She told me that I have to have a minimum of $100.00 to avoid a charge. I cashed in a check a week ago and the older lady was nice about it and never mentioned a charge Bc of my low account amount. I can't wait until my paycheck clears into my other account Bc I'm closing it right away. Changed my rating to a one star now.
