      I had banked wit Shrewsbury State Bank since I opened my very first bank account as a child. (40 years ago ) I opened bank accounts for both my children when they were born and through those years had nothing but wonderful experiences. When it was bought by Valley National Bank, I still stayed with them , I never had any issues and nothing but pleasant experiences . Ever since it was bought by Valley Bank , I’ve had nothing but problems . These accounts are savings accounts that aren’t used much due to relocation. Neither of the two previous banks had issues or charged me to have these accounts. Valley Bank, however has not only started charging me $9 / month for each account for “inactivity” but also sent me a letter stating that in October the accounts will be given to the state of NJ and deemed “unclaimed money” . Taking off a day of work to go close these accounts and never looking back . A disgrace of a bank , horrible customer service and greedy . Good riddance
