  I wanted to break away from the client services offered by the large national banks. I live in the Palm Desert area, Riverside County and even though American First Credit Union (AFCU) did not have a physical presence I went online and started working through the new customer process with Melissa Leon, I was overwhelmed with her approach. I am now a new member with American First Credit Union, I want to share my experience with Melissa who was very professional, knowledgeable, positive, helpful, made it easy, getting me set up. Always very polite and I could see her smile on every call. Melissa offered me not to hesitate to use her as my point of contact moving forward, and I certainly will. Let me state that in my 40+ years in the Real Estate and Mortgage Banking industry I commend Melissa Leon, Member Service Consultant 1, in your Buena Park branch. Matt Soto Sr.

  Been a member here for over 14 yrs. It keeps getting worse and worse. Tried to close a CD today, 1month ahead of schedule, so I knew there would be a penalty. It was a 36 month CD so I figured with 1 month left it would be a small penalty. Boy was I wrong. 18 months of interest was my penalty! Are you kidding me!? The teller says sorry we restructured the penalties so they're steeper now. When was I notified?? With 1 month left, that sounded ridiculous so I asked the manager if he could do something and he simply says no. The service has really gone down. I wish I could say this is the first time with problems but it's not. Just added to the list and this was the tipping point for me.

  My husband Robert Johnston and our youngest daughter Megan went to set account with them to receive their Social Security benefits and they were rejected so if you want a credit union to accept your Social Security benefits don't go here. If I could give your establishment none I would.
