  I had set up auto payment for a car loan. After I paid off the loan, I received an email (like every month) a month later saying my payment was due to process in 3 days. I immediately called the CU asking why i received that email, since the loan was paid off. I was told it was not them, that it was my TD bank who was sending the money to them. I called TDbank and they told me it was ACU that was taking the payment. Sure enough, the money was taken out of my TDBank account 3 days later. I called the ACU again, and was again told it was my TDBank who did the transaction, which made no sense, since I received the email from ACU and my TD statement said ATHOCU CK WEBTRANSFER. The ACU checked into the auto loan dept and said they had no record of it but since the loan was paid off, the money would be sent back but I didnt want my money tied up during that process! They advised me to go onto my ACU online acct and see if I could stop the autopay there. I couldnt log onto my acct because the loan was paid off. Seems like one dept isnt working with the other and nobody knows whats going on. Again I had to call my external bank and put a stop payment and pay $35 dollars to get my money back from ACU and my money was tied up at ACU. Ridiculous and should have never happened, especially since I called to prevent it. Why was a request still made on a paid off loan? Wouldnt their computers flag that?
