We are a retired couple whose parent had just passed away and we had inherited some money. We were continually asked to verify employment, verify that social security would go on for 3 years and that pension would go on for 3 years. We were also quizzed closely about where money came from when it was evident checks were deposited from life insurance company and from investment account and we explained the death and inheritance....felt as though we were accused of lieing and people were trying to prove that verses look at facts.

We are sorry you felt like we thought you were lying. The things asked for are guidelines in the mortgage world and have to be verified. If income didn’t continue we would be putting someone into a mortgage without the means to pay the loan. In terms of deposits into bank accounts this is also something with the times we are in we have to make sure those funds aren’t coming from sources that are ineligible. Times are different in todays lending world. I wish you didn’t feel this way and apologize to you on behalf of the company.
