Highly recommend working with Alyce. So much so, that I drive 1 hour to work with her at this branch, as she left my local branch. She is professional, efficient, knowledgeable and highly responsive for making appointments, handles business and personal accounts, as well as helped my daughter open her first account, and explained the process to her. Excellent asset to BOA team and any branch she is affiliated!

I really dislike like going to this branch. Ever since I moved to Newtown, I have tried to go into this branch for my banking needs and the tellers/managers always make me feel unwelcome. It honestly feels like they try to find ways NOT to help me verses trying to find a solution. I get it, we are in a digital age where about 99.9% of my banking is done online, but that .01% when I actually need to go into the branch shouldn't make me leave the branch feeling "why the hell do I bank here?" And to top it off, I'm one of their Preferred Rewards Platinum Honors client.

**TERRIBLE, PREDATORY & NOT ACTING IN THE CUSTOMERS BEST INTEREST, DO NOT USE (READ BELOW)*** (Images provided as support in this review have redacted my personal information to protect my account information) On 2/24/2021 I entered my local branch of Bank of America (2894 S Eagle Rd, Newtown, PA 18940) and made a check deposit of $8738.05. The check was from Draftkings.com, a publicly traded entity of which I hold stock. I have had this account open since September of 2020 and since that time there has been over $100,000 in transactions made on the bank account, so it is a not a new one. The problem (if not part of a larger chasm) is the branch manager, Lori, she personally handled my deposit (which I expressed to her the need to have $3,000 available within the same week, the rest could clear whenever) she told me that $5,325 of the total check amount would be available for me on 2/26/2021 and that the remainder would be made available to me the following week ending in 3/5/2021. I accepted those terms happily and proceeded to make the deposit. It was not until the morning of 2/26/2021 that I received an automated email from Bank of America stating that the entirety of the check was to be placed on hold until 3/5/2021. I called the branch at 9:01 am and asked for the manager, I was told she was there but with a customer (1 minute after opening mind you) but he took down my information and assured me she would return my call asap. I never received that call back at all. Furthermore, I called the traditional customer service line and was told that the "Reason for Hold" was because check specific information indicates the item may be returned.. I have a copy of that letter which they were happy to email me. as I said above this is a check from a Billion Dollar and Publicly Traded Entity, Draftkings.com. They happened to use a bank located in West Virginia to send me this payout. I called MVB BANK located in Fairmount, WV and within a matter of 3 minutes I was able to speak to their operations team who said that it was EXTREMELY common for them to confirm the validity of and fulfillment for a pending check deposit from their client Draftkings.com. They told me to have my BofA reach out to them and they would gladly oblige.... So that same day I went to the bank, which the manger Lori was too busy to even look in my direction (from feeling guilty and exposed I imagine), I was seated with another banker who gave me the same line of what I know for a fact then to be complete lip service, these people assume you are stupid and don't see the big picture or understand how the banking system works... I am an financial analyst by trade. This bank is, in my opinion, dragging out the availability of customer funds to bolster their financial statements and earn more interest on those deposits by doing what they have done to me here in large numbers. Their 2019 Investor Report (I hold 750 common shares of Bank of America "BAC") states in the consumer market their goal is to "Grow and win in the market-no excuses" as stated by Dean Athanasia, SVP of Consumer Banking & Small Business. I filed a complaint against this institution with the CFPB and PA State Attorney General's office. DO NOT USE THIS BANK. TD is right around the corner and will treat you as though you have a brain and are a human being. I cannot wait to close this account.
