  I actually had a very pleasant experience with the local branch. However, Bank of the West took them six years to get my address updated with telephone, in-person, written and email attempts. I got involved with Bank of the West after getting an RV loan through Good Sam. They have changed terms of the agreement on the savings account that I had to open in order to get the RV rate so that now they can charge me $5 a month unless I open a checking account also with them. Before it just went through direct deposit from an employer. At one point, I changed employers and they gave me the wrong routing number three times in a row, forcing a late payment and then charged me for the late payment. I tried to send in a check to correct that and they wouldn't accept the check because it was written for 250 and no instead of 250 and no. So they're using a lot of games to get extra money. Right now, they won't let me close the savings account because it has $0.80 in it and it has to be a zero balance. So, I've asked somebody locally to go put $0.20 in., I took out a refi loan just to pay this loan off and I can't get a lien release from them, either. Plus, they took an extra payment after I paid. CRV and I'm having a hard time getting them to refund that as well. I'm not sure that these are problems with the local branch. But, I'd sure be weary of doing business with Bank of the West in general.
