  If there was something lower than 1 star I would leave it. Don't work with this firm unless you have lots of time - and money - to waste on the mistakes they make. Not only will they continue to make errors, when you call to find out what happened, they charge you for the phone call. What a great racket! Update: Boyum did remove the charge for our follow up emails and calls.

  I used the services of Boyum and Barenscheer for several years. Only after doing my own research did I discover that I qualified for a tax waiver. After some back and forth, they agreed that I qualified for the tax waiver. I paid again to have my taxes refiled, only for there to be another mistake in filing that might result in my losing the tax rebate for one of the refiled years. I am thoroughly disappointed that my tax professionals were not looking out for what types of tax credits I might be eligible for, and then doing a poor job of refiling. Having Boyum and Barenscheer as my CPA turned out to be an incredibly costly endeavor. Paying for initial filing of tax returns, paying to have them re-drafted and re-submitted, all the tax credits that I was no longer able to claim because the time limit had passed, and the money I am now spending with a different CPA trying to recoup the incorrectly filed amended return. The other reviews seem to show that my situation was an anomaly, and I hope that continues to be the case. I have learned my lesson, and will continue to use other firms in the future. -Update as of 4/7/2022 On January 12th, 2022 I found out that too much time had passed since Boyum and Bareenscheer had submitted my tax forms incorrectly, and I was no longer entitled to receive the tax return addressed above. That same day I sent an email to one of the employees that had reached out to me as a result of this review. Today is April 7th, 2022 and I still have not received a response from any employees addressing the issues contained in the email.
