Starting off with Branson Bank went well. There were a couple mishaps but nothing major that really bugged me. However recently over the last couple of months it has been more trouble. The loan officer at the 165 location was incredibly rude. Recently I left for vacation and I called the bank ahead of time to inform them I would be leaving to a high risk area and would need any blocks or holds taken off of my account so that it doesn’t get declined for “fraud” or insufficient funds. That message didn’t get through. When I checked in to my hotel my card was *surprise* declined. Being a Saturday I could not contact the bank at all. I was very close to completely losing my hotel reservation. But thankfully the hotel was able to work with me. I called the following Monday to find out why it was declined. I was informed that I had a $500 limit. I explained that was supposed to be raised for my vacation. The lady raised it so I could pay for my hotel. Lo and behold later in the week my card is declined again. I called and asked again for the limit to be raised For the day. Later in the same day my card is declined yet AGAIN at dinner, even Though I have plenty of funds and have not reached my limit. I am done with Branson bank and will be switching banks Monday. They do not listen and do not care. Update: I guess I didn’t learn my lesson 2 years ago when I originally posted this. My dad passed away and I informed them of this but was told they couldn’t close out his account until they had a death certificate. I tried to log in to his bank account today to make sure that the bills were coming out as planned (utilities, boat payment, etc) and to transfer myself some money for the mortgage payment. They disabled his account and now I have no way of paying the bills until his death certificates come in because they’re all in his name (everyone is awaiting proof of death). I can’t wait to find a new bank. This is the last straw with this bank. I’ve had enough.
