The Rehoboth branch is not customer friendly. Every month I cash a check that is from Bristol county savings bank. Same account holder, and my same license. Twice I was told that the signature on the check did not look authentic from the person that wrote me the check, and now today they would not cash my check because my license expired last month. Well in COVID the registry has extended license renewals out 6 mos, and that gives me until December to renew. I called the registry and they said the bank should have cashed the check because they were all notified! Instead the teller told me to renew on line, I told her I can’t because I need a new picture.. none of her business I might add...so my License expired last month, four days before I cashed last months check so I asked why did she cash it last month, her reply was because it was only expired for a week... so let me get this straight, you do take expired license but you choose who’s and when to take them! I choose to cash personal checks at the bank they are drawn on so I don’t have the head ache of overdraft charges if I deposit the check and it does not clear..so after talking to the attorney generals office today, I was clearly discriminated because I choose not to open an account at your bank. That is in these times un acceptable . I have gone to that branch for the last 14 months and have cashed the same check, so it just makes no sense to me. In closing I would like to say that no one has extra time to run home and look for a passport, then go back to the bank and wait another 20 minutes and get harassed...it’s just extremely poor customer service, but then I’m sure you know that with the extensive training one must under go to work with the public!
