      We used Caliber to purchase a home in Westfield NJ and my recommendation would be to go with anybody, literally anybody else. Despite having a tremendous amount of time to dot the Is and cross the Ts on our loan (we had 90 days from offer acceptance to closing) there were too many errors to document. They lost countless documents we sent them for income verification, prior homeowners history and insurance verification. This ultimately culminated in them missing the close date for our transaction. We had to reschedule the whole closing transaction for a different day because they had the wrong date. At first they tried to blame us but we had email traffic showing they messed up so they backed down and apologized and gave us a credit. While that was a total mess, as our mortgage servicer they continue to raise the bar on incompetence. We are two months into working with them as our lender and “surprise” Caliber is still unable to make tax payments from our escrow account. We continue to get tax delinquent notifications from Westfield. We continue to call Caliber and they plead ignorance but promise to fix it in 20 days. Totally unprofessional and totally unreliable are two adjectives to sum them up. If you aspire for those traits with you mortgage company then definitely give these guys a spin. If you prefer to work with competent people try anybody else.
