  Chase has decided to eliminate Safety Deposit Boxes. This is what they did to me as an existing owner since 2009: I went to Chase to access my SDB in February2022. When taken to my box, it was discovered that the lock had been removed! And my PROPERTY WAS GONE!! THERE WERE NO IMMEDIATE ANSWERS AS TO WHERE MY PROPERTY WAS AND WHY IT WAS REMOVED!! I was contacted the following day by a bank manager who informed me that during an audit it was discovered that the serial number on file did not match the actual box. As a result they drilled my box WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME!! THEY REMOVED MY PROPERTY, EVEN OPENED AN ENVELOPE MARKED CONFIDENTIAL!! THEY PROMISED ANOTHER BOX, BUT LATER SAID THERE LEGAL TEAM WOULD NOT ALLOW THEM TO GIVE ME ANOTHER BOX. I was treated very unfairly as a customer. I'm not sure if it's Racial discrimination or plain stupidity. They gave me a coffee mug and basically told me to go away. I feel completely disrespected and violated! So this is the way they are getting the Safety Deposit Boxes off of their books! Terrible service!
