  As a first time homebuyer, the entire process of purchasing a house was incredibly daunting. I'm so fortunate my brother introduced me to Chris! What an exceptional realtor! Chris is incredibly knowledgeable, diligent, and understanding to my needs. Chris answered every single one of my questions, followed up with all my requests, and made himself available when I needed. I couldn't have felt more at ease during my closing process and Chris made sure I got EVERYTHING I wanted out of my home purchase. I couldn't have asked for a better first time experience!   Committed, diligent, knowledgeable, and truthful are words that come to mind working with Chris. Being a first time home buyer in the current market was a huge struggle, and Chris made the process a breeze! Chris was very timely with his responses and very hands on when viewing homes. When we found the perfect home for me, Chris was quick to get in touch with the proper parties and we had an offer on the table the same day. I'd recommend Chris to anyone looking for a realtor that has your best interests in mind!

  I cannot say enough about how great it was working with Chris Boyd and Kalli Hyde at Compass. New to the area and first time home buyers: My husband and I are new to Bellingham and needed help purchasing our first home. There were a lot of unknowns to us, especially when you consider the crazy housing market we are currently in, but Chris and Kalli were incredibly helpful and very knowledgable, giving us peace of mind throughout the process. Our first meeting with the team: In the beginning of this process, we saw right away that working with the team was going to be much more beneficial than working with other agents. We were originally working with someone else, but didn’t feel like we were getting much out of our meetings with them. The very first time we met with Chris and Kalli, they brought us in to the office (working around our busy schedules) to ask us a series of questions to understand us and what we were looking for. In this exercise they covered topics that you don’t always remember to discuss when you simply meet with an agent at a property. After they had a good understanding about who we were and what we were looking for, Chris took us on a virtual tour of comps that had sold in the area throughout the last six month and all of the houses currently on the market. This was incredibly helpful in setting our expectations and having market data that we’d use to inform our purchase decisions. It was great to go through this process and getting answers to our questions in real time. Finding the right home: Once we found a property that we were happy with, the team hit the ground running. Chris helped us put together a strong offer, talking us through all of the various levers that we could pull to help our offer stand out to the seller. He helped set up a pre-inspection so we knew what the state of the house was prior to putting in our offer. He used his network to keep us informed on how our offer was doing against others and always responded in a swift manner. With his help, our offer was accepted. Because Chris had helped us understand what we could include in our offer to stand out, we were even able to beat out an offer that was higher in price than ours. Closing: We had a quick closing window, but Chris was there for us and answered any and all questions with lightening speed. This was incredibly important to ensure that we could close on time. Going above and beyond: We uncovered some small projects during the inspection and will do some renovations to the house before we move in. Chris and Kalli helped set up a meeting with a great contractor they know and gave us a list of recommendations for stores we could find and purchase materials. While the house was mostly empty after the seller had move out, there were some items left behind that we needed removed (including a sectional couch). Kalli helped in removing and donating these items from the house prior to us going into renovations. Lastly, Chris and Kalli were incredibly thoughtful and bought us some amazing house warming gifts that were anything but generic. Because they took the time to get to know us, their gifts were very tailored to us and what we want in our home. It was such a lovely and unexpected end to our home buying journey. I cannot recommend them enough to others. Purchasing a house is easily one of the most stressful and biggest decisions that one can embark on. But I know that you will be in good hands when choosing to work with Chris and Kalli because our experience was nothing but exceptional.
