      As far as I understand, it was this branch (albeit then the Security Pacific Bank) that became the "victim" of the George Smith gang on May 9, 1980. A famous case is Norco Bank Robbery. Years later, though, a shootout in North Hollywood overshadowed this heist and the subsequent police chase after the bank robbers.
