      Colonial Mortgage company is the WORST mortgage company on Earth. They deserve NEGATIVE STARS, but I had to give them 1 star in order to post this. If you need a mortgage, use a lender who has an office with a person you can go speak with. Colonial only offers an 800 customer service # staffed with a bunch of reps who send you in circles, after waiting on hold for God only knows how long. For at least 3 years their recorded msg says "We are experiencing unusually high call volumes"! What, you can't hire more staff in 3 years? I just spent two weeks of calling DAILY to finally get a low level Supervisor on the line. My issue, my home recently flooded and the county wont let me fix it due to the repetitive flood history. But I have an insurance check for $46K, which if applied to principal, will leave me with a mortgage balance of $19K. Which I'm happy to pay, but I need a payment adjustment as I cant afford to pay $1150 a month for an unfixable, unlivable home. And Colonial says they would rather foreclose than lower my payment! On $19K! For a home that has to be demolished! DO NOT DO BUSINESS W THIS COMPANY. And if your mortgage company sells your loan to Colonial, REFI IMMEDIATELY.
