I purchased a vehicle I thought was a repo but wasn't this was some one selling a personal vehicle I guess for a friend.I purchase a straight lemon.Asked for a car fax report but didn't get one and finally went to car max.Car had been in several accidents and had 5 owners.Im thinking I was almost scammed. The vehicle was under the Phoenix program they have and didn't even qualify to be because of year and mileage. Found this out afterwards please don't jump into a car simply because you want in look into it get a car fax report .
Response from the owner
In a lot of cases a bad review on a company is probably warranted. People that know me, know that bad service is just not acceptable to me. I believe that many members of CECU have met me and they know that I am here, ready to serve them. It has just always been the way that I do business. However, after reading this negative review, I as the CEO trying to make CECU a trusted place to do business, just had to respond. It is probably a little unethical to call someone out on a bad review, however this review contains mostly inaccurate information. The really bad thing is that due to the Privacy laws, I am at a disadvantage to discuss them all in great detail. A used car sale in the State of Georgia is supposed to be an "AS IS" sale, meaning that you as the purchaser should check the vehicle out prior to buying it. Anything that happens after the purchase is your responsibility. This vehicle was disclosed as a repo vehicle. I also disclosed that the transmission had been rebuilt and had a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. Because the car was in good shape, I had a professional ASE certified mechanic look it over prior to offering it for sale. I'm no mechanic but he told me there was a "left-side" sensor that needed replacing. That sensor was replaced prior to the vehicle ever being offered for sale. However, after you purchased it, there was another sensor that became a problem. I had you take it to the same mechanic that I had used before and he told me this was the "right-side" sensor. I made the decision to fix that problem at no cost to you and CECU paid $500 for that repair. For the Car Fax statement you made, if you had asked us for the Car Fax report, you would have been told that we do not offer those. The general public can purchase a Car Fax report for $39.95 over the internet, so if that was indeed important to you, you could have obtained one prior to the purchase. I know that you found out the history of the car when you tried to trade it in last year and one of the local car dealerships pulled it for you. I had no knowledge of the history prior to you sharing that with me. You also did not mention that you drove the vehicle for two years and put 40,000 miles on it. I have no idea what your maintenance was for the car nor do I know how you drove the car. The true fact in your post is of the Phoenix Program. This is our 2nd Chance Auto program, and I did put you under the program with a car that did not qualify. Of that fact, I am guilty. And because of that fact, CECU made a decision of integrity, that you agreed to and were satisfied with, that had no negative impact to you. So I did find this review unwarranted as it does not contain complete and accurate information of the business you had with CECU.
