This bank will fine you to death for anything and everything. Tried to close our account after they fined us over $100 for having a balance below $10,000 (which wasn't supposed to happen, they gave us the wrong account type). But the guy failed to close out account fully, so when a subscription got charged to our account (giving us a negative balance) the bank tried to charge us over $100 again! Do not bank with Commerce!

I've been a customer of the Commerce Bank in Uptown Normal for over 20 years, and they have helped me with 1,000 details and problems over the years. Recently the branch worked with their excellent mortgage officer in this area, Eric Armstrong, to arrange a favorable mortgage for the house I am buying with my fiancee. They were really thorough and clear and kept me informed and kept on top of things and helped me with the online application system. It's reassuring to be able to work with such a professional bank.
