      I’ve been banking at Community Bank, NA for nearly 30 years. Though my account originated at the Wellsville, NY branch, my family moved closer to the Alfred, NY branch 16 years ago. I have found that the staff at both branches are knowledgeable, professional, and customer service oriented. Having previously worked in the banking industry, I know how disgruntled customers can lash out; oftentimes due to problems/issues that they brought upon themselves. Alfred is a college town, and many students are first-time account holders and either don’t pay attention to what their responsibilities are, or they simply expect someone else to “fix” it for them. “Adulting” can be challenging for some. So, before basing a decision as to whether or not you wish to open an account at Community Bank on the recent negative reviews left here, take the time to go in and speak to (Branch Manager) Mrs. Beth Plaisted and/or (Customer Service) Ms. Margaret Bissell. Both are respected business women and have been with Community for many years.

      Opened an account, did not want paper statements. They told me the account had no fees, then kept charging me for the paper statements I did not want. Then claimed I had to download an app and do it through the app etc etc. No, I was specific when I opened the account, and the rep did it then. We discussed it. The rep also wrote my account number incorrectly, which caused problems later. Great job. Closed my account.

      The people working there take it as a joke. There is no form of professionalism at all in that entire building. They take it as a joke because it is in a college town. I hope everyone gets fired
