  Friendly customer service! We have been banking with Community Trust for over 20 years. We appreciate the way they always treat us with kindness and make you feel welcome! Any time they think there might be identy theft or that there is an incorrect charge on the account they will notify you immediately. Thank you!

  Fraud occurred in my checking account with CTCU. I called to report, and they refused to proceed with my claim because I didn't have a receipt to prove my purchase. Why would I have a receipt for something I didn't purchase, but that someone else purchased fraudulently? Mind you, it's $22 at McDonald's & got a new debit card, but that's not the point. My credit union would rather allow me to live with a fraudulent transaction in my checking account than protect me. Competitors will at least offer provisional credit and investigate. They didn't even do that. I've been a member for 10 years and never had fraud until now. I use my debit card so much. The service I received from the Card Services Dept. was horrible. CTCU doesn't have my back as a member. This whole credit union is awful, actually. The direct deposits take forever to post. Mobile banking and online banking are so behind on what competitors are offering. I requested a check to be mailed on my behalf, and they were so slow, I had to request a stop payment and pay a FEE. They made sure to manually go in my account and charge me a fee for taking forever to process my online check request DURING COVID. I DIDN'T WANT TO VISIT THE BRANCH. Building a 2nd Gurnee branch that's already surrounded by over five other FI's in the area isn't doing anything for me as a member. When the branch opens, I'm closing my account. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

  With an existing balance on an existing HELOC loan, were in crisis mode when our roof failed, causing leaks in two bathrooms, damage to electrical fixtures, and soaking drywall on ceilings and walls. Hadn't budged for this disaster, and when we needed it most, the CTCU team not only came thru, but made it so darn easy. With our excellent credit, Nick Solis and team folded our current loan into a new home equity line with an even better interest rate! Wow. Can't say enough. Been working with them for 15 years, have financed three vehicles thru CTCU (no more sweating in the car dealer finance guy's office), and now have a terrific HELOC to fix our roof and bathrooms. Don't sweat financing your new car, or recovering from damage to your home. Call CTCU-Gurnee, IL!
