  We started our process in November. We thought it would be impossible to own a home. Amy Cortes helped us since day one! She answered all our questions. I remember we called her day and night with hundreds of questions and she would always answer and ease our anxieties. We are very thankful to have had her as our loan officer!!!   We started our journey of going into escrow August 18, 2020. We chose a 45 day loan in order to have a smooth transition and getting everything done without much stress. Everything was going wonderful we were pre approved, we turned in everything that was asked of us, and did everything they asked us to do in order to be ready for the underwriter. Finally everything was perfect, there was even a conference call with the underwriter and she stated everything was good and nothing else needed to be done. That was two weeks ago. What was supposed to be a 45 day escrow has turned into a 63 day escrow. Our lender doesn’t even want to answer our calls anymore because she has no answers for us because she’s not getting any answers from this company. Everyone is in the dark and on stand still. The seller of the property has two mortgages to pay because this company is taking their sweet time. Then they want to blame Covid for their lack of professionalism. Come on guys this wasn’t a 30 day escrow it was 45 there was plenty of time to cross our T’s and dot our I’s, 63 days is clearly unacceptable.

  We could not have gotten our home closed without a LOCAL lender whom I can reach via cell phone (not some 1-800 #). We encountered unexpected delays when items came up in the inspection report, which derailed our estimated timeline. The seller was furious, demanded an impossible 3-day close (or cancel), and surprisingly, at the literal last hour before a wire cutoff time on the 3rd day, Country Club Mortgage (Kathy Thews) got the deal done. This wasn't normal so I wouldn't recommend testing them to see if it can be done again! In short, I learned a valuable lesson about the POWER of a local lender: their ability to get the job done by doing whatever it takes (talking to her company owner to expedite, calls on the weekends, etc) is invaluable. Like many, I've seen so many advertisement of national lenders with their unheard of low rates; however, I understand that once you become qualified, the “nickle and dime” charges appear, the rate increases to a market standard, and the 1-800 number hold times are unwarranted. Country Club's rate was very LOW, and it stayed the same from start to finish (didn't increase). A+++ CCM team and thanks again!
