  I can't say enough good things about Lisa and the rest of the team at Cross Country Mortgage! As first time home buyers, we weren't really sure what we were getting ourselves into, but Lisa and her team made the whole process so easy. They walked us through it every step of the way- from the pre-approval process all the way through closing! They were also full of helpful resources along the way, and even sent us cute packages with helpful items for moving. I would use them again 100x over and recommend them to anyone!

  I would not recommend Lisa Wells to any non-white borrower. After working with other lenders, I realized how deceitful Lisa Wells Team had been with me, approving me for much less loan that I could qualify for, ($600k vs. $850k that I got from another lender) giving me a higher rate than the market average, not offering 90-day rate fix, and falsely claiming that they have expertise in California region, when they are primarily a Minnesota company. I was very new to the housing market when I talked with Lisa Wells team, and I regret not talking to other lenders earlier in the process. Bottom line, open your eyes and do your due diligence before contacting a lender. [Edit after the response from the business] 1. I can't post documents here, otherwise I would upload the example mortgage breakdown that Lisa gave me here. She never even mentioned the CA lender name, let alone referring me to them. She never gave me a phone number or link, neither did she tell me that someone will reach out to me. 2. When I asked if you can do loans both in MN and CA, the answer was yes, and that $600k amount is the total I qualify for REGARDLESS of where I will purchase the property. Hence, the cost breakdowns I got for the example properties both used the same interest rate. Lisa did not even mention the fact that interest rate for second homes are higher. 3. You guys gave me pre-approval letters when I went to showings in California. How come you used the amount calculated with the 2nd home assumption in MN, for a house in California, which is my main place of residence???? I even put down an offer for a house. I now wonder what would have happened if the offer had been accepted, given that you are not even licensed in CA. 4. The fact about the rent was never mentioned in our conversation. 5. People make mistakes, and that's understandable, but your attitude and the way you treated me is simply not acceptable.

  Hi Shiva- I am not sure that your facts are all accurate-but here is what i can speak to… We actually referred you to another mortgage team in California since we are not licensed there. When you were looking in Mn- you were looking at a second home so we had to use your rent against you and therefore you qualify for less. A second home interest rate is more expensive than a primary home rate. We take clients and the home buying experience very seriously but respectfully will have to disagree with your interpretation of the lending rules available for your situation.
