David was such a pleasure to work with when he helped me purchase my very first home in Asheville, NC back in June of 2014! He is very personable and pleasant and wants the very best for his clients. After my closing, David presented me with a lovely gift, an IKEA tool kit. I absolutely love the thoughtful present and still use it! Kudos to you David! I would definitely use Fairway Mortgage again in the future, they are superb.

My wife and I worked with David Kanis 9 years ago during the purchase of our home. My father was acting as my buyers agent. David steered us to a broker to funnel the buyer's commission through in hopes of making the sale cleaner. The money was supposed to return to my father who actually did the work to earn it. However, the broker took the money and (eventually) moved across state leaving my father without his commission. David did absolutely nothing to help us. He didn't offer to intervene, make a call, lift a finger, or even offer an apology. He got his money, turned his back, and simply shrugged us off. I have been incessantly reminded of how callous his interaction was with us as several years later I started getting unsolicited emails from his company at the time. I attempted 2-3 email unsubscribe responses and even called his company and asked to be removed (and told the front desk person why). To this date I still get emails from his company (why I finally posted this) and am still reminded of how poorly we (including my father) were treated. Note its rare to find negative reviews about lenders. People are usually happy after they buy a home. But sometimes things like this happen. If you're on the wrong end and David has his money, don't expect any different...and you'll keep getting cheery emails from him no matter how much he cost you.

We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Fairway Mortgage and David and his team. From the initial phone call we immediately knew we wanted to work with this team. Prior to our first face to face meeting with David, communication was top-notch. Every question was answered, everything was explained and we knew we made the right decision in choosing this team. Then we met David. What a great guy! It was apparent to us that he wants to make sure we read, hear, and truly understand each of the steps before signing anything. We never felt rushed, pushed or driven down a path we didn’t want to go down. David’s team always responded to any and all questions we had in a timely manner. They have excellent customer service skills and everyone we dealt with was personable; traits which seem to be rarer and rarer. They made themselves available whenever we needed them, even responding to email requests at odd hours of the night. Our closing ended up happened over a week earlier than it was originally planned. It went off without a hitch and more importantly, with no stress on our part. Even the interest rate ended up being lower than we expected, which was a nice surprise. After our closing, both the day of and several days after, David’s team followed up to ensure that everything went as expected and to see if we had further questions. We were highly impressed with the level of commitment, communication, responsiveness, and follow-through that we experienced every step of the way. We love our new home and it wouldn’t have been possible to move in so quickly and as stress-free as it was, without David and his team. We will absolutely use them again in the future and we will gladly recommend them to anyone and everyone.
