      The EDA has long been an important part of St. Clair County businesses and manufacturers. In the first quarter of 2020, they have had a significant impact on all businesses, and specifically, small, locally owned businesses, by helping navigate the extraordinary challenges presented by the COVID-19 crisis. Many small businesses have been able to count on the EDA as a well organized, concise, and thorough resource for HR issues, executive order navigation, supply information, grant opportunities, and more. The EDA has supported both member and non-member businesses, which has been an incredible gift to non-members. While a small business may be defined as 500 employees or less, many small businesses operating in our small cities and downtown areas are 40 or less, sometimes maybe only owner operated. The EDA has proven to be a essential partner to my business.
