      I recently sold my townhome and the buyer's title company was Edgewater Title. They sent the proceeds of the sale to the address of the property I just sold rather than my current address. It makes me wonder if this was the first time they had ever fulfilled a real estate transaction. Edgewater then asked if I could go to the property they shipped it to and pick it up myself. My wife stopped by the property only to find that UPS delivered to a secure lockbox (which was proper). However, we no longer had the mailbox key as it went to the buyer in the transaction. When I asked Edgewater to cut another check and have it delivered by courier or someone from their office that same day (a 10-mile trip), they REFUSED. Instead, they opted to cut a new check and send it overnight. Rather than having it the next morning, they opted to have it delivered by the end of the day. Clearly Edgewater has issues operationally, as well as with basic customer service. They had the opportunity to make it right, and they balked. Edgewater Title seems to only care about the money rather than the experience. Our title company, All-American Title Company is a much better solution for your title and transfer needs.
