I am a disabled veteran, and was a combat medic for the second infantry division from 2015 until 2019 when I was deemed 100 percent disabled. I live on that fixed income, but thought that I could afford something nice for myself and set to shop for a hunting knife. My first months power bill included an unexpected deposit, and I raise two children alone. three days ago, I bought it, and three days ago my grandfather died- also an infantryman, having served honorably for years. I instantly understood my family’s need for financial help, and realized that I needed to take the knife back to them as it was not so necessary as my need for that 100 dollars back. They refused to even make me an offer. It was unused, other than that the whetstone was opened. not only did the manager totally refuse ANY offer on the knife, he refused to hear my circumstance or even talk with me. I was not rude, until I left, informing them that I would ensure the veteran community of el dorado that they were discourteous in demeanor and wholly unwelcoming to me. They offered me exactly ZERO dollars back, not even half back, not even a quarter back, and treated me like I was trouble. Finally, I asked him if he would just Listen to what I had to say, even if his answer was still no. He told me that he wouldn’t even speak. Highly unsettling disrespect for an old doc down on his luck.
