  I had a Gold Bracelet that had been sitting in the Draw . I shopped around and this wonderful shop Paid me More then any other Jeweler offered . The Staff has been Beyond Kind , polite and Most Helpful . Happy to Be a Customer

  If I was able to give less than 1 star I would have. Last week I received an offer of $5700 from Empire for a diamond that had been measured at 3+ carets by 4 other jewelers. Today I returned to sell it to them for $5700 but was told that he'd only give me $1000 per caret and it was less than 3 carets. He lied to me! Seller beware.

  I can understand why you were upset. Several diamond buyers you visited changed their originally quoted price and I can see how that is frustrating. I cannot speak for others; I can only explain our reasons. It's true, after briefly evaluating the diamond and quoting you a price, you came back a week later with the intent of selling at the price we quoted. After carefully inspecting the diamond, we noticed a a few very subtle, yet very important aspects of the diamond that we did not pick up during your first visit. First, we originally took your word for it that it weighed 3 plus carats. After we accurately measured and estimated the weight, we determined it weighed approximately 2.50cts. Knowing the weight can only be definitely determined if the diamond is removed from the setting and weighed on the scale, we were willing to do so in your presence and with your permission. Before we got to that juncture, we also noticed the tip of the stone was broken underneath a prong. We felt obligated to mention this as removing the stone could have caused further damage to the diamond which was not a risk we felt comfortable with. Taking all this into consideration, yes, our price changed from the original quote. We knew that you would not like hearing what we had to say but we are always up front and honest with our customers no matter what. I also take the blame for not communicating the best I could have with you as I was discovering this information. I should have been more precise while walking you through our thought process.   Asked about a piece of jewelry in their case and they told me “I don’t know look it up on our ebay”, they didn’t even attempt to look or ask someone else. They were rude and spoke poorly about my 90 year old grandma to me who was parked outside the store. A man yelled at her twice that she couldn’t park their even though we were simply finishing up a transaction, we were there less than 5 minutes, and nobody else was there. I would not do business with again.

  Dear Elizabeth. In response to the customer’s review regarding our associate’s reply to a question about a piece of jewelry in our showcase, our associate answered simply and honestly that the pieces in the showcase were not for sale, that their purpose is to show our customers the types of items we buy or offer loans on and that all our salable items were offered online in our ebay store. The car, to which the customer refers and driven by her grandmother, was parked illegally on the front sidewalk to our store, blocking the entry door to our establishment. More importantly, it was potentially dangerous and a safety hazard not only to our customers, but to our staff and pedestrians as well. Our store manager never spoke rudely or yelled at anyone and actually helped guide the driver out of the tight spot and over to a safer location. Sincerely from the Staff at Empire
