  I have banked with Fifth Third for over 20 years. As a rule I find them to be a good bank. They are a helpful bank with all aspects. I anticipate continuing to bank with Fifth Third.

  Went in to open a bank account and for the first time in my life was told I was denied. They use a 3rd party company called "Chex systems" who apparently prides themselves in using an outdated website, providing defensive customer service, and unable to explain the reports they provide. Chex didn't like me because at the age of 27 I don't own a home and I move around (typically once per year with work). Due to these reasons, I was deemed too risky to open anything but a "second chance" account which is an absolute slap in the face for someone who prides themselves on keeping their finances/credit in check. The only reason for 2 stars is because the associates delivering the news were pleasant, and I know it's not their decision to refuse doing business to well qualified customers. This 6 figure earner with a 700+ credit score who was going to deposit close to $20-30k into an account will happily be taking my business to the bank I went to directly after this experience who was able to open multiple accounts for me no problem. Whoever has implemented this policy of working with "Chex" should truly evaluate their decision and track the impact of how much business they've lost due to such policies.

  Most dysfunctional bank system ever. Call the 1-800 number about auto loan. Enter soc security number , asks for ATM pin . You have to listen to prompt 5 times enter atm Then on hold forever ,then agent goes I need your social since you don’t have an account with us Hellooooo I have a auto loan with you Clueless. Horrible. Refinancing now not to deal with this 1990’s I T challenged bank
