  Please don’t give this extremely unprofessional company your business! I settled on the Friday before President’s day weekend and was told they would send me the final closing docs through email and I would have my wire on Tuesday. When I didn’t see my wire Tuesday afternoon I started to worry so I called the office. After several unsuccessful attempts at trying to get through to someone, I emailed and got their out of office. Here I was, no closing docs, no money and now the office isn’t answering because they are away. My agent made several attempts to contact them as well. I did end up getting my six figure deposit on Wednesday night, and never did get a call from Ed after requesting a call through email several times. As a first time seller, Fireside made it a horrible experience and never even apologized for their error and my hassle!

  Kristen, as you know, you and I have talked about this on multiple occasions since you wrote this very unprofessional review. As you indicated, you closed on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend. As I've often pointed out to you several times, under Virginia law, we have two business days to disburse funds. We endeavor to do it sooner than that, but sometimes circumstances intervene. In your case, to be in full compliance with Virginia law, you would receive your funds no later than the following Wednesday, as Monday was a holiday. You DID receive your funds on Wednesday afternoon. For reasons that only you can understand, you panicked and wrote this ridiculous review. I told you on multiple occasions since this occurred, that I had left town for a brief 3 day vacation on Saturday afternoon, but that I had put in place instructions to the bank to have your funds wired to you on Tuesday, as soon as we received word that the documents had been recorded.. Because of changes in the bank's wiring procedures, they did not wire the money on Tuesday, despite my formal request to them that they do so. I did not learn of this till Wednesday morning when I immediately contacted you by phone and explained the situation and told you that you would have the proceeds that day. You were apoplectic. You and your agent remained in contact with my office throughout the day and were advised on multiple occasions that you would have your proceeds that day. YOU GOT THEM. I've tried to explain to you that when you place a wire at 9 in the morning, it can take from 5 minutes to 8 hours to have it show up in the other parties account. I have no control over that. The wire was placed (again) with my bank at 9 AM on Wednesday morning. You received it at 4 PM on Wednesday afternoon simply because that's how wires work. Notwithstanding the fact that we fully complied with Virginia law and were in constant contact with you as soon as we realized the funds had not been wired Tuesday, you wrote this incredibly negative and unfair review. I've personally requested that you take it down, as it is grossly unfair and inaccurate, but you have refused. Thus I am responding to same to fill in the facts which you chose to ignore. FireSide Settlement has been in business for over 25 years, closing over 25,000 settlements during that time period. Yours is the second complaint we've ever had. The first one was written TWELVE years after we closed the loan. We didn't even know the guy was a client of our because he wasn't in our database. Apparently some people just feel the need to complain....regardless of whether they are justified or not. Hope things work out better for you in the future. Edward D.   I do not recommend this settlement organization. In September of 2007 I was the seller in an hours-long settlement that should have been routine. I would urge buyers and sellers to seek any settlement service other than Fireside.

  Howard, we did locate your file. Initially we didn't recognize your name and couldn't find you in our database as you filed your complaint TWELVE YEARS AFTER THE CLOSING. You and I have spoken about this at length and I've told you that I personally never closed your loan. I was in court at a trial in Prince William County when the loan was closed. The closing was handled by a young lady in my office. No-one at closing (the real estate agents, settlement agents, closers, etc.) remember anything unusual about the transaction. Sorry you found our services so lacking. We've been in business since 1991 and have successfully closed over 25,000 loans in that time frame. You were the first to complain about our services.....and you waited 12 years after the fact to express your dissatisfaction. That in and of itself raises questions about your "review". Edward D.
