  I would have liked to give this bank a better review. However, when I first moved to Dalton I was looking to change banks; I came here and spoke with a lady who opens new accounts. Now I understand the bank has 100% right to turn anyone away and I’m good with that. What I’m not good with is ignorance or lies, it’s one of the two here. I told the lady I had recently filed for bankruptcy due to some issues, and my lawyer suggested I change banks. Rather than just saying my credit wasn’t good or I’m a risk, I was told you know the debt collectors can access your bank information even when you change banks through credit reporting sites, and she was worried my account would be continuously overdrawn. So basically she thinks and tells customers your bank account number is posted on credit karma or Experian for everyone to see and take money from freely.. As someone who has actually worked for a bankruptcy attorney in Chattanooga I knew she had no idea what she was talking about. 1. After filing, a letter is sent to all creditors to cease collecting and you are not to pay until the judgement. 2. Bank account numbers are private and not public information. The only way creditors would get my new account number is if she gave it to them, which she probably would. 3. If they were by some miracle to take a payment, all I do is provide them a copy of the bankruptcy letter from the attorney and they are required to return it and a good bank would waive the fee, it being a creditor mistake.
