      This is a five (5) star review for First Republic Bank. I formerly banked with Chase under their "Private Client" program, and it candidly left much to be desired as being nothing more than a marketing program. It is night and day with First Republic. Top notch, professional, friendly service here. My banker, Mr. Young, is very competent, knowledgable and very thorough. I am a difficult customer, hard to please and like things done a certain way. First Republic has consistently exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend.

      FR drew my attention when I saw on the web that it offers a “personal line of credit”. Even though the website indicates a 7 to 10 year term choice, within minutes of my conversation I was informed that their product would be stay a LOC for two years, then convert to a regular loan. So it is a way for this bank to attract customers. I really do not mean it in a negative way but… I don’t understand it. From that point on I lost my interest, but hey I could be wrong. The person who I dealt with had the right demeanor.

      FR is the former private banking arm of the old Merrill Lynch. They are into service. You are greeted when you walk in and serviced at a desk opposed to a teller window. There are soft baked cookies in the foyer area. If you are good client (high balances), they will provide you with a lot of First Republic swag in addition to PARTIES!.
