      Coming from a small town, I’m used to walking into a bank where they knew my name when I walk in. I didn’t get that at any of the other banks around Des Moines that has the resources I need until I opened an account at Great Western. Staff is pretty friendly, recognizes me, and ready to help instead of just seeing me as the next transaction. They also are a larger bank so they were able to provide some pretty competitive accounts rates while maintaining that small town customer service. The only downside is that they aren’t open on Saturday, but there are plenty of other locations close by that are open on Saturday.

      Had four unauthorized charges on my health savings account. They would not do anything about it! I ended up having to pay several hundred dollars for something that I did not authorize. The company that did the charges are all over the internet for doing this to others but the bank still said I have to pay! Poor excuse for customer service.
