  Because of an error in reporting credit activities, Green State has cost me up to $10K in new homeowner grants that I am now unable to re-capture once they finally fixed the error. I had called numerous times to ask them to fix their error as it had taken a toll on my credit score just as I was beginning the search for a new home. The drop in score took me from being approved for the grant to not approved. Green State refused to correct it, until I noticed a couple months later that my savings account had been wiped out. Turns out, they took all of it and put it toward what they assumed was an overdue balance. It was showing overdue because of the error, again on their part, and the insanely slow pace of the issue being corrected. Once I demanded to know why they wiped out my kids savings to make a double payment on my behalf for the month of October, the agent was actually helpful (for once) and said she saw the error and would replenish the account AND would ensure the credit reporting be corrected from October. After I had been fighting to fix it for months. Well my score boosted back up to where it was, but it was too little too late as the window between correction and closing was too small and the Grant would be unable to be processed in time. So thank you Green State, for making the home buying process much more stressful and complicated than necessary and for costing me up to 10K in down payment and closing fees I should NOT have had to pay if not for your poor communication and unhelpful associates in almost every department I had the displeasure of dealing with.. If I could go back in time, I would have gone with my initial instinct to avoid Green State.
